Kommission Swiss IFIP Committee
Tasks of Delegates to the IFIP General Assembly
(GA) and Technical Committees (TC)
The General Assembly of IFIP is IFIP's top
ruling body for the general policy.
Main functions of the Swiss Delegate to
the IFIP General Assembly are
- to represent Swiss interests in the General
Assembly and related bodies,
- to participate in relevant activities to
live and support IFIP's aims and scope,
- to exchange information and participate in
professional activities, which are of mutual
interest,
- to be prepared and willing to take over
responsibility and to work for IFIP and for
the benefit of the Swiss professional
community, and
- to act as a messenger between IFIP and the
Swiss information processing community.
The Technical Committees (TC) of IFIP are in
their specific area of interest responsible
for initiating international congresses and
publications as well as scientific Working
Groups (WG).
Main functions of a TC representative
are
- to provide information to the Technical
Committee about the situation in Switzerland
(developments, concerns, available persons
and contributions) in order to ensure an
international focus for the TC activities,
- to provide information about the TC
activities to interested parties in
Switzerland,
- to attend annual meetings of the TC,
- to offer to host TC meetings and events in
Switzerland whenever feasible.
